Information on James Wright was taken from some internert sites and county histories. These sites also note he was married to Sarah Haworth - - which relates to notes from Birdie (Ramsett) Johnson, stating a Haworth connection.
In the book "History of Clinton County", 1882 which Joan scanned on the internet, four families, George and Mahlon Haworth and James and John Wright, settled in the Todd's Fork area and were the first white settlers north of Wilmington, OH. They arrived late October or early November of 1804. Shawnee and Mingo Indian were nearby. This may explain their need for the 'bell'. (See notes under John R. - Dayton was about 30 miles from Wilmington, OH. Other Wrights mentioned in this book include: William Wright (son of James?) married Hannah (Dillon?). Wm Wright owned part of Jacob Jenkins place, but sold it to Joseph Oven who sold it to Isaac Wright, son of James. Nathan Linton's wife was Charity Wright, sister to Isaac. The Haworths and Dillons formed the nucleus of the Society of Friends in Dover. (Also note - both James and John (brothers) had sons named Isaac. (Also see notes under Mahlon Haworth).
