Wright, Solomon R.
Birth : 18 March 1802 in Greene County, Tennessee
Death : 10 September 1881 in Randolph County, Indiana
Burial : Cedar Cemetery
[James Wright Des Tree.FTW]

The following information was found on a web site: Individual (Solomon - parents John Hominy Wright and Margaret Reece (aka Rees/Reese): Was part of the underground railroad in Indiana. He hid slaves in a hidden room in his house. Traveled with his father when 14 yrs. old to Randolph Co., IN, He and his 13 yr old brother stayed to clear the land while his father went back to Ohio to get the rest of the family. The brothers were in the wilderness 2 yrs. before the family returned. The information on this Solomon seems consistent with ours - - (from Birdie's notes - -" Isaac and Solomon March 10, 1816 on one horse - - riding and tying got to James's from Clinton Co. to Waynesville, Spring__, Eaton, New Paris, Williamsburg, Indiana, Muncie from an old Indian Montzie". (Solomon and Isaac's ages seem to agree with other records) We had earlier noted that James may be John's ("Hominy") brother.
