Thomas had 4 children with his first wife Elizabeth Bourne (note surname also associated with Lydia Huckstrep Tilden). He married (2nd) Mary Holmes and had 8 more children. Thomas's son Thomas, c. 1668-1718 had son John, b. 4/15/1703 d. 1773. His son John Jr.'s (1754-1792) son John 1789-1870 is the father of John Phillips Tilden (1811-1894). A family tree compiled by John Leslie Tilden c. 1973 and on file with LDS claims John Phillips Tilden was the first Tilden to come west. "A real pioneer, coming by covered wagon and the Ohio River. He came to manage the developing property of Daniel Webster as a Land Agent. The William Tilden descendents (us!) of Stephen et.al might claim they were the first Tilden's to come west (Ohio c. 1800, to Indiana and Minnesota). It is apparently this family (the Thomas Tildens) that tried to lay claim on the original Nathaniel Tilden "homestead" in Scituate, MA.
