'Uncle Charlie' is the one brother of George W.'s that Joan knew. He lived in Red Wing most of the time Joan was growing up. He was business manager of the Durkee Atwood Tire Company in Red Wing. At the time of his father's death (1924) he was living in Minneapolis. Joan also knows that at one time they lived briefly in Des Moines, IA. Update, March 2000: Charlie's obituary was found in the Red Wing paper. He was listed as an "industrialist". Started as a storekeeper for the Great Norther R.R. in Willmar, Minnesota. Then worked for Durkee Atwood in Minneapolis and was transferred to Red Wing in 1929 and became General Manager of D.A. He was member of Royal Arch Masons of Willmar. He belonged to the First Methodist Church in Red Wing. In June, 2001 Joan, Don and Dawn Schuette visited Charlie and Clara's graves in Willmar, Minnesota.

Clara was the only "great" aunt Joan knew while growing up. Clara and Charlie did not have any children. They were especially good to us (my sister and I) when we were growing up. They visited often at Green Lake and went on several trips with George and Etta and stayed with them in McAllan, Texas. (The name Sanboe is somehow connected with Clara)
