Josephine is in the Red Wing City Directory (1924) listed as 'widow of John'. At that time she was living with her daughter Alma Bennett at 220 W.5th St. She came to this country with her daughter Alma, c.1884 Alma was probably 8 years old - very likely with other relatives. Many of the immigrants who left Sweden did so from either the port of Gothenburg or Malmo. Often they went to England first, then by train to Liverpool. Most immigrants then sailed to New York or Boston. Although some passenger lists exist, Joan has not located Alma and Josephine yet on any of them. It is possible she was part of the Trolle Ljungby immigration to Goodhue County, Minnesota but we have no verification.

Josephine's obituary states she died September 6, 1933, of a stomach ailment at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Bennett. Her maiden name was Josephine Johnson. It also states she married A. Anderson in Sweden and that she was born in Sweden in November 22, 1849 and married in Sweden in 1877. She was buried in Burnside Cemetery in Red Wing. "Her husband died after they were married for 8 years and then she came to the United States" (c/1884/85).
