DC and Mount Vernon - 2010
After our trip to Monticello, I decided to stay home while Bobbie, Dave, and Janie decided to go into the District. Dave and Janie had visited DC several times when their kids were young so they all decided they would enjoy just riding a double deck bus. They got nice seats on the upper deck and were able to see all the major sights from the the upper deck of the bus.

Mount Vernon - George Washington's Home
Another stop on Dave and Janie's Tour was Mount Vernon though we made our sojourn there on a day that Bruce could join the group. The one improvement that had been made at Mount Vernon was a new Visitor's Center that made a trip there more pleasant and much more informative.

With the long lines waiting to get into the house which all of us had seen before we decided our time would be better spent exploring the grounds. However, I parked my scooter at the back of the house looking out over the Potomac enjoying the breeze coming up from the river. We were blessed with another day of wonderful weather.

What a View!

I am not sure but I think Bruce may be experiencing some difficulty.

This view across the Potomac River, I think, is so pristine.

After we left Mount Vernon, we took the George Washington Parkway that is a lovely drive along the
Potomac on our way back to Bruce and Bobbie's. These last few pictures are taken from the
Parkway looking back at DC.
