Bruce and Bobbie's New Home

Rosses Point Court

Ashburn, VA

Many of you know that Bruce and Bobbie have been wanting to move into a house that would be more acessible and comfortable for Bruce, so now there is a new Domus for the Hoocherus Populus Virginae. We have moved into a 55 and older community which Bobbie is quick to point out that is was Bruce who qualified us and not her. I guess that is what happens when you rob the cradle. :)

Now Bruce Is Enjoying Some Sun on The Porch

There Is Always a Welcome Sign on Our Front Door and We Do Expect Visitors Especially Family

As you walk into the house, you will see Bobbie's Office on your left which looks out onto the porch and front yard.

Then you move into the Living Room and Dining Room Area that is right ahead of you. One nice advantage of selling our old house is it gave us the opportunity to buy new furniture that didn't come from family or a second hand furniture store. I am not sure that Bobbie is quite done yet.

Bruce Relaxing in the Living Room

This is a view from the Dining Room into the Kitchen and Family Room, but first we have to make a trip down the hallway you see on your right.

As you enter the hallway, you will see the laundry room on your right which also leads into the garage. There will be no more going up and down stairs to do the laundry.

Then on your left you will find a guest bathroom adjacent to a guest bedroom which we converted into Bruce's Office.

Here are several views of Bruce in his new office which is still in process but getting more like home all the time. The long chain you see hanging down is from ceiling fan, so Bruce won't have any problems adjusting it in whatever way it suits him.

Now it is time to go back to the main hallway and head into the Kitchen and Family Room. You can't help but notice the Kitchen on your left as you enter that part of the House.

The Family Room though not large has become our central living space unless we are on our computers.

Bruce can always be found relaxing on his favorite chair.

From here you can go up the stairs on the right to a 'Loft' which is going to become guest quarters for our visitors. It has a separate sitting room, bedroom, and bath with all the privacy you could want.

Then it is back down the stairs to the Family Room where just beyond the fireplace you will find the entrance to the Master Bedroom on the right.

This past Sunday was the second week that we have been in the house, and I have to admit the only role I played in this move was that of a loyal supporter and observer. There is still much to be done but I am amazed at how well my wife organized this move and to see this house today makes me realize what a fortunate man I am.
