Air and Space Museum, NMAI, and the FDR Memorial
The next stop on the Dave and Janie - 2010 Tour was a new satellite adjunct of the
Air and Space Museum near Dulles International Airport. It was built to house
large aircraft such as the Space Shuttle or the Black Bird.

When we arrived at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center which is the Air and Space Museum at
Dulles, we fortunate to find a guided tour that was just beginning led by one of their docents.
Statue of General Billy Mitchell, the father of the Air Force. Mitchell was an early advocate for military aviation and predicted that air power would make sea power obsolete. For his trouble he was court-martialed at the order of the President and driven from the military. The statue is on display at the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Virginia.

These pictures give you a good perspective of how huge a Space Shuttle Orbiter is/was as the last Shttle launched is scheduled for June 28, 2011. That date is always tentative and has already been rescheduled several times by NASA.

Since Dave and Janie were going to be here over July 4th, Roger and Calvin came down from New York City for a long weekend. While Roger and Calvin were here, they all went downtown to visit the The National Museum of the American Indian and the FDR Memorial. Bruce a little worn out from all the activity stayed home and rested.

Double Vision Again
Don't know who these kids might be. Bobbie said they didn't want to move but they did
want to pose for pictures. So if you wanted a picture the kids had to come with the picture.
